  1. He (Trump) will have to hit them hard on their defund (abolish) the police rhetoric; images of cities burning while dem politicians at the local and state level do nothing. Make it about he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep America safe. 2nd point making it clear that he will punish to the full extent of the law the Obama cronies responsible for the Russian collusion/delusion witch-hunt. This will energize his base and hopefully enough Independents. No Lindsey Graham style forgiving them for the good of the country shtick. Thirdly hammer Biden on his mental confusion/incoherent statements; only so much covering the main stream media can do in a world of youtube videos (I hope). They will have to make tough vicious ads showing Biden as rambling “Dementia-Joe” and hope for some kind of melt-down during the debates.

      1. “The defund police movement is the strongest case yet made for the 2nd amendment.”

        Yuppers:

“Gun and ammunition sales soar as defund-the-police movement grows”

“You’re seeing a reaction to people’s concerns about being able to provide safety for themselves and the ones that they love,” Oliva told CNN Business.
More than 6.5 million gun-sale background checks were conducted from January 1 through April 30, according to the latest NSSF research, which showed a 48% year-over-year rise from the same period in 2019. Firearms retailers surveyed by NSSF in May estimated that 40% of their sales came from first-time gun buyers.
Oliva said 40% of those first-time gun buyers were women, a relatively high rate for that demographic group. Although gun sales have been up across the country, a rise in first-time gun buyers in left-leaning states like California have helped fuel the national uptick in firearms and ammunition purchases, he noted.”
        https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/24/business/gun-sales-spike/index.html

At to that mix the traditional Democratic fetish for gun control; contrasting with Trump’s support of gun rights.

  2. Picture “Keep America Safe” campaign buttons/tee-shirts slogans overlaid with pictures of rioters defacing/burning/threatening to defund (abolish) the police. Show the complicity of politicians like AOC agreeing with such.

    1. Agree with it? The Democrats organized and funded the “protests”. These aren’t randos just showing up in the streets. They are Democrats carrying out the plans of the Democrat party.

    2. I have heard of worse strategies. But don’t think anyone but the real nutters are serious about defunding police or any other program. How else would Democrats enforce all the laws they want to write? They will make a few cosmetic changes, declare the problem solved, and move on. Right now they are placating their very leftish base, but all will be forgotten by November, when they will be trying to attract the general electorate.

      1. “But don’t think anyone but the real nutters are serious about defunding police or any other program.”

Yes;Pelosi/Biden etc. don’t want to. But their lack of (public) criticism of such for fear of alienating their leftist extreme base can be used against them. Ferocious campaign ads by Trump people showing Democratic politician(s) being weak/sympathetic with “defund the police”. Images of democratic politicians rationalizing the rioters in Seattle and other places, “fiddling” while “Rome” is burning. Get the idea in the electorate mind of which man Biden or Trump do you trust to keep America safe? Someone whose party apologizes for the rioters and is at best “sympathetic” with the idea of abolishing the police (Biden his party) or someone who make it clear he will enforce the laws (Trump) to keep us safe?

  3. “Their destroying statues of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, they would like to get Jesus”

In other words this is a war on our very cultural values, history the things that make us Americans; sounds like a campaign slogan to me.

    1. We wont be seeing the media ask Democrats about whether Jesus was sub-Saharan African, or if the Egyptians were, or if Africans colonized the Americas, or about any other black supremacist beliefs held by the leaders of BLM and some writers at the NYT.

      1. “We wont be seeing the media ask Democrats about whether Jesus was sub-Saharan African, or if the Egyptians were, or if Africans colonized the Americas, or about any other black supremacist beliefs held by the leaders of BLM and some writers at the NYT.”

“Shaun King, the controversial Black Lives Matter activist known for pushing false claims, called for the destruction of Jesus Christ statues and Christian churches for their depiction of the “white” holy family, which King argued are forms of “white supremacy” and “racist propaganda” that promote “oppression.”

“Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down,” the activist posted via Twitter on Monday. “They are a form of white supremacy. Always have been.”

Tear down all the churches in the country? You can’t use that in a campaign; the war against Jesus.

        “https://gvwire.com/2020/06/23/tear-them-down-blm-activist-shaun-king-calls-for-destruction-of-jesus-christ-statues-churches-white-supremacy-oppression-racist-prop/”

          1. “Actually I think the objective is to further destroy the churches, church attendance, the cohesion that religion brings, the obedience to a higher power that religion brings, and just general institutional silencing and destruction.”

Yes. And of course replace it with the overtly atheist ideology of Maoism (Communism). There is only room for one God in their view, the State.

        1. Yeah, I saw that. He seems to think that white people would be shocked and turn away from Christianity if they only knew Jesus was black.

What King believes falls under the colloquial term We Waz Kangs. It is stupid because there are a lot of cool history in Africa that is actually real.

          1. “Yeah, I saw that. He seems to think that white people would be shocked and turn away from Christianity if they only knew Jesus was black.”

Actually I think the objective is to further destroy the churches, church attendance, the cohesion that religion brings, the obedience to a higher power that religion brings, and just general institutional silencing and destruction.

          2. “He seems to think that white people would be shocked and turn away from Christianity if they only knew Jesus was black.”

He’s not a Christian, doesn’t understand Christians, and can only project his own bigotry — he wouldn’t worship a white Jesus, therefore concludes whites wouldn’t follow a black Jesus.

          3. Shaun King doesn’t understand black people, either. He’s a white kid from Versailles, Kentucky, just down the road from me.

  4. One thing I find remarkable is that many progressives understand all of this quite intuitively when it comes to other countries.”

No, they don’t actually understand other cultures. An offhand comment about that’s how something is done in another culture doesn’t mean they understand that culture.

It’s one thing to say, “We should stop doing X.” It’s quite another to say the people who did X when X was entirely normal are now pariahs.

There is something vaguely Maoist about the mood out there.

Why shouldn’t people expect Democrats to live by the rules they have for others? Why did Jonah use that particular example? I think we all know the answer.

And a young-at-any-age columnist by the name of Jonah Goldberg wrote a column arguing that Joe Biden’s best bet was to run a “front porch campaign.”

I bring this up for three reasons.

First, to note that I was right.

Was he right? How could he make that claim when Biden isn’t campaigning that way and also hasn’t won?

Second, to highlight my prescience, because I’m even more right now.

    Really?

I constantly hear that what Trump needs to do is make the election a choice between him and Biden rather than a referendum on Trump.

Does Jonah know what an election is? Trump is the incumbent but isn’t supposed to make the election about getting himself re-elected?

There are many problems with this theory. First, as I write today, Trump seems clueless about how to define Biden.

Perhaps Jonah needs to branch out his twitter list because Trump has already defined Biden but it really wasn’t anything Trump did, it was just the reality of old age and dementia.

Has Jonah been right about anything in the last 4 years?

is like saying his presidency will change once he decides to be “presidential.”

Trump has said that he can be presidential and he acts that way depending on the setting. He doesn’t act like that all the time because the people who are against him exhibit some of the vilest behavior known to humanity. He doesn’t treat CNN very well because CNN participated in the coup and always use deceit to fool les gullibles, like Jonah, who fall for it every single time. I don’t know why Jonah thinks that he and other people can hurl any insult they want but that if anyone responds to them, it’s uncouth.

Jonah had one good point. In the 1 minute clip he posted, Trump didn’t lay out his policy goals for a second term. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have them or they haven’t been communicated in other forums or even 20 seconds later but he didn’t bust out the elevator pitch either. I wonder though, if I were to go watch that entire interview, would we find that that Jonah’s criticism wasn’t accurate? I don’t want to watch the interview and I’m quite certain that Jonah didn’t either and since he is lazy when it comes to his job, I’m guessing he just lifted the video link from a tweet and didn’t actually watch the interview. I could be wrong but…

    1. Trump is the incumbent but isn’t supposed to make the election about getting himself re-elected?

The way to get re-elected isn’t to make it about yourself, but to persuade people to vote for you. Trump’s pitch is to no one except his own base, which he already has.

        1. Do you think Jonah watched it?

Every politician sells them self. As an incumbent, this is especially true as they talk about their record and what they are currently doing. The election is just getting started and Trump is doing things as a form of persuasion, like how he is handling the pandemic, Democrat race riots, a hostile and deceitful media, censorious social media, and all the other normal crises.

Trump did an amazing job with testing. His administration developed tests, cut regulations hindering the process, scaled up production, packaging, distribution, and testing sites so that we now can test at least 500,000 people a day and this whole process happened in a very short period of time. Contrary to what the media says, he did it by working with state and local governments and also by unleashing the private sector. Can’t believe this was in NRO and written by Lowry but its one of the best articles on the testing strategy. https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/06/coronavirus-media-wrong-about-trump-testing-strategy/

I think stuff like this helps because even though the media isn’t covering it, aside from lying about what is happening, 500,000 people a day are experiencing something the media claims isn’t happening.

      1. They will have to but how do they do it without pissing off their base or freaking out the normals?

    2. “In the 1 minute clip he posted, Trump didn’t lay out his policy goals for a second term. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have them or they haven’t been communicated in other forums….”

I think the best forum for Trump are his rallies. That’s where he lays out policy.

  5. If Trump isn’t re-elected it will be because of an over hyped and amazingly convenient pandemic and a moral panic set loose by the same people who sabotaged his first 3 years and now are facing retribution. Trump may be narcissistic, and US Grant may have been a drunk, but they both fight and you know which side they are on. I agree with Ace of Spades hq – Goldberg is a cuck nevertrumper and his BS is a function of his leftist pay masters.

    1. Do you really believe that Donald Trump is beyond criticism, and never does anything wrong? Do you agree with him that everything he does is “perfect”? Because that’s the belief of a cult member.

      1. Nobody believes that, but the stakes are too high and the deadline is too close to be asking questions like that.

      2. It was a lot of nonsense and norms hypocrisy to wade through to get to what could have been a single sentence or short paragraph,

“Trump needs to articulate what his second term agenda will be and return to the strategy he employed during the last election where he talked about what he was going to do for you. It is still early in the cycle, but he needs to sharpen his game because his current opponent might be on the way to assisted living and his future opponent wont have dementia.”

As an exercise in persuasion, Jonah alienates 99% of people on all sides. Jonah can do better. It just feels like he let himself go both physically and mentally.

      3. –Do you really believe that Donald Trump is beyond criticism, and never does anything wrong?–

One could say every time Trump tweets he is doing something wrong and he gets endless criticism.
I think Trump should continue to tweet.
But what might be better would be make alternative to Twitter- obviously Twitter does not deserve Trump’s tweets.
But one can always say, something which is good should have been earlier, and maybe Trump will support an alternative to Twitter.
It seems the most important thing Trump did was prevent a illegal attempt to overthrow a duly elected US president and prevent Dems from illegally attempting to impeach him.
Those two things have done more for America, then anything any other president has ever done.
And conversely, the parties involved have being something order of evil as assassinating President Lincoln.
But I am sure President Lincoln is not beyond criticism, never did anything wrong? Until he got the drunkard Grant, one could say President Lincoln did a lot wrong. Though having drunkard for your general, also seems quite wrong. And Sherman was wrong.
What we know is Obama was worst president, ever. But we liked the fact was 1/2 black. One certainly can count 1/2 black as wholly black, and looked at black African American {thought actually wasn’t 1/2 African American}. But he had the skin color and spend time in radical African American church, some liked his pants and Obama gave them thrills. Certainly worth a try, but obviously Obama was utter failure in terms of American leadership and US commander in chief.
Trump seems to be doing quite well as US commander in chief, one can say he has failed to remove the troops in Afghanistan,
but has managed to kill a lot terrorist leaders, and ISIS has been destroyed.
Built 200 miles of border wall. Stopped air travel from China {and later from Europe].
So worst thing Obama did was interfering with Trump being President. The small minded Obama was trying to defend his legacy, but he didn’t have legacy worth defending. And if Trump doesn’t get second term, he will not have to defend his legacy, it will be seared into history. And Biden’s failure is his one term {if gets even through a term] will make Trump seem greater than he was.
        Maybe, Trump should quit.
Some imagine Biden will be placeholder for a real president- whoever Biden selects as VP. Maybe Trump can have Pence be the real president. Then Pence can get 8 years in office, and won’t be lame duck.
So Biden could do it, Trump could copy it. If Trump does the same thing as Biden, will there be fight over it? Or anything Trump is for, Media and deep state are automatically against- which makes them against Biden might do. But instead Biden remaining in basement, Trump could be Trump- doing trade deals and peace in the middle east stuff, And Trump can avoid ever being called lame duck president. And Trump could end all lame duck president in the future.
So, biden team might want to sneaky way, Trump establish a new Republican norm which eliminates the second term lame duck.
Or if Trump is elected president, the media will immediately call his presidency second term as lame duck. But he is VP, and it’s Pence first term. And also Media could be hysterical about Trump running again as President. But if does he will lame duck, but mostly, dead from old age.
Of course Biden says only going to be president for one term, which also immediately makes him a lame duck. But he a lame duck regardless if saying running for one or two terms.

    2. If Trump isn’t re-elected, it will be because of massive electoral fraud.

He’s certainly far from perfect, but he’s a fighter and the only one willing and able to stand up and try to take America back from the globalists. That’s basically the choice in this election: nationalism or globalism?

If only we had someone like him here in the frozen wastes.

      1. I’m getting pissed off enough that I might just run for MP in the next federal election, as a member of the Rhinoceros party. Unleash the clowns!

      2. If Trump isn’t re-elected, it will be because of massive electoral fraud.

I expect Trump will also believe that if he isn’t re-elected. I expect he would then refuse to accept the result.

Hmm, where have I seen that before? I know, in banana republics from their own narcissistic presidents that refuse to believe that people would vote them out.

        1. “I expect Trump will also believe that if he isn’t re-elected. I expect he would then refuse to accept the result.”

You guys tried that in 2016 and no one bought it then.

So after trying several attempts at a soft coup you’re trotting that old one out again.

You have no idea what you are talking about. That’s just flailing.

        2. “I expect Trump will also believe that if he isn’t re-elected. I expect he would then refuse to accept the result.

Hmm, where have I seen that before? ”

The Democrat party since 2016. That’s where you saw it before.

You have zero -= absolutely ZERO reason to think Trump wouldn’t leave if lost yet you announce that you believe he won’t leave if he lost.

          Project much?

          1. “I expect Trump will also believe that if he isn’t re-elected. I expect he would then refuse to accept the result.
Hmm, where have I seen that before? ”
The Democrat party since 2016. That’s where you saw it before.”
Yes. I recall after the November 2019 election they (the dems) refusal to accept Trump’s election. Seem to recall not only calls to abolish the electoral college but them going so far as threatening the electoral college electors not to follow their pledge and elect Trump. Suppose that what some of us here think that the pro Biden polls are garbage turns out to be true and Trump get re-elected. There will people on the left calling for large scale protests (riots) in major cities across the country threatening anarchy if Trump is inaugurated again. Wouldn’t be surprised if democratically controlled areas pressure the police to disengage and let them do what they want; while blaming Trump for the resulting chaos.

  6. Supporting Trump is the classic case of going to war with the army you have, not the army you want. So I’ll still vote for the man come November because the alternative is too awful to contemplate. For crying out loud, Biden has AOC and Beria Bernie advising him on energy!

For example, I’m an expat living in South Korea and I think it’s foolish for him to bash the ROK and Japan for not contributing enough to their own defense. Both nations have militaries, that apart from lacking nuclear weapons, are far more capable than any NATO country’s forces, outside America’s. Seoul and Tokyo are not the feckless Germans. But as an expat living here in Seoul I know a Biden victory would only encourage the North Koreans and the Chinese to become more aggressive.

  7. Jonah saying he is even more right now doesn’t make up for his big one 4 years ago. It’s fun to watch him predict the future.

  8. —He wants a referendum on him because he wants everything to be about him, not his ideas, not his agenda, not Joe Biden: Him. —

I think it’s clear Trump want to make America great, again.

Joe Biden doesn’t think American was ever great, and will surrender to anyone. And Biden doesn’t claim to know what his family are doing.
Everyone appears to know about his family is doing. Even rather dull witted State Dept knows what his family are doing.

Jonah seems to think ideology is quite important.
Jonah knows the dems are fascists, yet he wants to vote for them. Does not appear that Jonah’s ideology is helping him make rational choices.

I think pretty clear that both Dems and Reps politicans have loser ideologies.
I think Americans have winning ideology, roughly a judeo- christian ideology. Wiki: “The idea that a common Judeo-Christian ethics or Judeo-Christian values underpins American politics, law and morals has been part of the “American civil religion” since the 1940s.”

And seems Trump’s view of making America great again, is aligned with such values.

Or Clinton talks about rightwing conspiracies, and there a lot American deplorables. And Jonah’s ideology informs him to want her as the US President.
An question is if Jonah had a choice, which does choose, Clinton or Biden?
I think I would pick Clinton- if I had to choose between them.

Now if Biden a lot younger than Clinton, then I might pick Biden over Clinton. I don’t think aging as helped either of them. And think Trump is better than he was 20 years ago.
All of them could die because all are old. But dying in office, is not my greatest concern. Plus I would prefer, Pence over Biden or Clinton. Or any vice president Biden can pick. Or whatever the vice president, that Clinton did pick.

Anyhow I would say Jonah and Bolton quite similar.
Both have ideologies, and no one would vote for either of these people as they are obsessed with their unworkable ideologies, and are blinded in seeing everything in terms of how fits into their tiny ideologies.

Anyhow, as update, Reps are still losing, and Dems are losing harder then Reps. Fox news is still barely pretending to do news, the other networks are not trying to do news.
All have editors which are corporations, and all editors from the beginning of time are mostly interested in ad dollars. And no person was has ever been editor in the history of universe has been dumber than corporations running MSM.

    1. “Does Joe Biden have the mental capacity to keep America safe?” the narrator says in the ad, which features footage of Mr. Biden making meandering comments and stumbling through worlds. “Is Joe Biden making any sense? Does Joe Biden have dementia?”

“Mr. Biden, 77, is running to become the nation’s oldest president. His penchant for verbal gaffes and miscues has caught the attention of some voters and provided fodder for his critics.”

“The ad closes out with the narrator saying: “In a world losing its mind, we don’t need a president who has already lost his.”

  9. “There is something vaguely Maoist about the mood out there.”

It’s probably related with the “Free Trade” with the not vaguely free China.
    Remember CNN’s relationship Saddam’s regime?
There was a “reason” perversely related to a goal of getting the news.
Back then, the groupthink reasoning could be twisted up with vague notion of getting the news. Perhaps a consequence from it, was the tossing out any notion of trying to get the news.
The effect of China on American basketball players was interesting as illustrates broadly the weakness with ideology of “Free Trade” with the not vaguely free China.
One could say, you can’t have “market share” related to an enslaved people. And such a stellar regime of concentration camps and which is harvesting human body parts. Such things as are not “cultural differences”.
And if you imagine disinvestment from South African was good idea, how does that idea fit with moving US jobs to China as close to sensible.
Send the elite Chinese children, back to their homeland, and they can learn more than enough of lefty ideologies in China.
The stupid/insane idea they are getting any kind enlightenment from US schools is farcical.

And decoupling should be, in manner of run like a deer from the NAZI/Maoist shithole, that we call China.

  10. One aspect of supporting Trump, is you also supporting some Reps who actually working Americans. Glenn Harlan Reynolds article reminded me of this:
–In the words of Black Republican Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina: “They cannot allow this party to be seen as a party that reaches out to all communities in this nation.”–
    https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/06/27/black-lives-matter-but-only-sometimes-column/3264946001/
So, Senate has a few outstanding politicans, as does the House of Representatives, and they giving their time in order to do something which matters. We shouldn’t do things which make their time and effort, wasted.
Or Dem politicans are being provided day care for idiots- and Biden President couldn’t be wasting their time. And it will encourage anyone wants to do something, to look for other areas in which they do something of some value to the nation.
