  1. I don’t know if the video is subversive but it is as stupid as a video that argues in favor of drunk driving (along with good things like motherhood, apple pie, and racial harmony).

My sister-in-law is an ER doc working herself to exhaustion treating people for covid, some who were very careful but who caught covid from idiots who couldn’t be bothered to stop spreading it. My wife is a high school teacher who everyone wants to see back in her classroom, even the morons who can’t be bothered to stop spreading covid.

Spreading covid is like drunk driving – it inevitably involves others who didn’t get a say in the reckless behavior that can kill them. Neither spreading covid nor drunk driving is a good indicator of freedom.

Admittedly, there are important differences between not spreading covid and not driving drunk, involving economic, political, and psychological factors, but that would require nuanced thought about covid mitigation policies instead of superficial muddled messages like the one in the “subversive” video.

    1. “some who were very careful but who caught covid from idiots who couldn’t be bothered to stop spreading it.”

How do you know that the people who spread it also weren’t very careful? Why do you blame people for what the virus does by its very nature?

We live in a time, the best conditions humanity has ever had. Climate, standard of living, technology, governance (for now), war, and all of these other things we judge life by are the best it has ever been. We are used to control. Famine? Our agriculture is so diverse that entire regions can be wiped out but the supply chain routs around in and people barely notice. Even during the pandemic, many many businesses have been destroyed by the lock down policies but other areas of our economy prosper.

We are not used to not having control. Then along comes a virus no one has ever seen before. It spreads whether we want it to or not. Nothing we do stops it but people look to scapegoat innocents as if punishing them gives them some sort of control over nature, when it really doesn’t.

Everything Democrats want to do to fight the virus is already being done. Everyone has been wearing masks for almost a year and masks are not stopping the spread. But Democrats can’t handle reality so they blame Trump.

The Trump administrations policies have been unparalleled in American history in terms of their organization and success. Trump was attacked for restricting travel with China but that what was needed. We didn’t need more respirators but they were built by the thousands anyway. The Trump admin didn’t just develop one test but many and he didn’t seize control of companies to do it like Democrats wanted. He let the scientists do what they do best. We went from thousands a test a day to tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands to millions of tests a day. Our testing capacity is greater than demand. An amazing achievement that should be celebrated.

Then came the vaccines, not one but many. Everyone said it was impossible. The Democrats and the media knew they were coming. States had to have the distribution plans in last October but they lied to the public. That doesn’t change what the Trump administration accomplished. Twenty two million people have already been vaccinated and thanks to Trump the rest of us will be soon too.

Democrats are scrambling to distribute vaccines out of order to party connected groups but cutting in line saves them only a month or two.

Why doesn’t anyone know this? Because the Democrat media and internet companies censor anyone who strays from the Democrat talking point. Doctors have to give treatments in secret lest Democrats find out something is effective and try and ban it from being used. They want the populace silent and afraid. Why be afraid?

Covid is only bad for old people. The media treats it like a death sentence and hypes every death so that people think if they get it, they will die or live a life of suffering. Something like 99% of people recover and old people are the most at risk and while we know this, old people are mostly forgotten by Democrat plans.

None of it is rational or scientific and looking for scapegoats to punish wont appease nature or the virus. Nature does not respond to sacrifices.

He’s not a serious person and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

    2. You know your name right. Let’s also ban Tinder and bring back penalties for fornication and adultery. Or at least prosecute every unmarried person who engages in unprotected sex. We need to stop the spread of STDs.

  2. My wife is an RN who reviews resuscitation, heart failure and stroke charts from hospitals across the nation including so called COVID hotspots in Texas and California.

She has to read page upon page of medical records to ascertain that standards of care were met for patients who coded and guess what? She rarely sees COVID mentioned in the charts.

We have family members with one foot in the grave because of serious chronic health conditions. They got the coof and survived. My eighty year old mother-in-law spent two days in the hospital with some minor pneumonia.

Because of my work I have access to CDC NHSN COVID data in a certain set of chronically ill patients across the country, and the death rate there is tiny, even though the average life expectancy for this set of patients is about five years.

COVID is vastly overblown, and I dare say was part of a political tool to steal the election.

    1. “COVID is vastly overblown, and I dare say was part of a political tool to steal the election.”

Yup. Most effective pandemic response in our country’s history portrayed as a failure. It is amazing how some smart people fall for the scam but many want to be scammed. They want to believe.

    2. “COVID is vastly overblown, and I dare say was part of a political tool to steal the election.”

I’ve been saying this for MONTHS

  3. All the recent deplatforming of the radical right is driven by the self interest of those providing the services. Providing aid or comfort to insurrectionists is a felony, as I pointed out before, and it’s a felony driven by the 14th amendment, which (being a later amendment) overrides the 1st amendment. They are protecting themselves.

    1. They’ve been providing plenty of aid and comfort to BLM and Antifa, and they don’t seem particularly concerned about it. This is driven by ideology. It’s the mob taking care of business now that they know the Democrats are in power.

    2. “They are protecting themselves.”

Who is “they” and from whom are they “protecting themselves?”

Are you seriously attempting to argue that this past weekend’s mass censorship drive is being done by those companies because they are afraid of their own, installed gov’t politicians attacking them on the grounds that by providing a supposedly neutral platform which some may have abused, they are “insurrectionists”*? It used to be people waited until the warrants and court orders were actually issued and served before reluctantly complying with restrictions on free speech. Now we have companies voluntarily and enthusiastically taking the lead, and apologists citing the 14th Amendment as some sort of super Constitution.

I do miss the days when the Left at least tried to give the appearance of supporting free speech in all sorts of varieties (remember when flag burning was deemed “speech”?).

      * Ain’t it amazing how a word suddenly, magically and simultaneously appears in every Leftist’s talking points? A word never applied to anything their side has done these last four (five?) years. Do any of them ever think for themselves?

Yep, that’s exactly what he’s doing. Which leads to the question “Is he sane?”. Which unfortunately brings into doubt any reasonable understanding of the word “serious”.

    3. Blockades are an act of war.

      This is a digital blockade.

I predict things will get really bad really fast.

    4. Providing aid or comfort to insurrectionists is a felony, as I pointed out before, and it’s a felony driven by the 14th amendment, which (being a later amendment) overrides the 1st amendment.

The 14th Amendment amends the 1st in that you cannot question the debt owed in an insurrection. It doesn’t call that a felony and it is equally moot about aid and comfort.

But hey, if you want to claim these businesses are protecting themselves; I’m sure your affidavit would be considered in the various anti-trust lawsuits that existed previously or announced recently. Do tell about these protection efforts?

  4. Also, Paul D is making the argument that this is some sort of self-defense. Good to know that there are some forms of self-defense Leftists will support.
