  1. “Instead of realizing their error in keeping kids masked this long, they’re moving toward getting kids “better” masks.”

The government believed one of the most effective things to do was wear a mask, a high quality surgical or N95 mask. These are trivially easy to make but our government made no effort to create American processing capacity and had no distribution program to get everyone mask rations. We spent trillions upon trillions of dollars for covid response but didn’t spend the small sum of money it would have taken to procure American made masks.

It is even worse because the government and media encouraged everyone to wear cloth masks and not seek out something better. Cloth mask wearers had a false sense of protection and since they were already wearing masks, would have benefited from wearing better ones.

I don’t think it makes much sense to make kids mask because they are so low risk but the masking policies have never made much sense.

It is rather strange because the people with the highest covid paranoia in charge of our society tend to be the least serious about solving the problems they claim are most concerned about.

  2. Oddly, I could not get the Great Barrington article to come up. There it was for just a flash, then became a white screen with a little progress wheel wheeling around without end. Tried both Chrome and Edge, no dice.

Then I tried MS Explorer. Worked there just fine. Go figure.
