“Deviated”

The Horowitz report is out, and (as predicted) it looks pretty bad for the FBI and DOJ. And Comey.

[Friday update at noon]

Three big takeaways from the report. It’s a big report, and there will be a lot of cherry picking by both sides.

[Update a while later]

The report shows that the fix was in from the beginning for the email investigation. Well, duh.

[Saturday-morning update]

Mollie Hemingway read the whole report so you don’t have to.

  1. The report won’t be released until 3p eastern on Thursday. We are still getting just leaks and soon.

  2. At this point it looks like a white wash or a nothing burger. The IG, btw, is an Obama appointee, the same one that did the Fast and Furious investigation nothing burger.

    1. It does come off like the Comey statement where he lays out all the ways the law was broke but then says nothing illegal happened.

It is impossible to read the text messages from the people running the Clinton investigation and not see political bias and corruption. That many of these same people joined the Mueller team is criminal, especially since Mueller himself was a participant in the Obama administration who prevented any legal accountability of the Obama administration’s corruption.

  3. If one asserts “we did not find that these decisions were the result of political bias on Comey’s part” then surely one can assert what the alternative reason was for those decisions.

    1. I think they said confusion and misinformation.

How could he know that Wiener was married to Huma? Like no one knew that. It all strains the suspension of disbelief.

  4. Looks bad (haven’t read it). But I think conservatives should pick up on where it doesn’t match their preferred narrative. What happened to the many unknown FBI agents who were leaking that they wanted Clinton indicted during the investigation, and that anyone else would have been indicted for the same crimes? Did they actually not exist?
If that is so, I want vengeance taken on the _conservative_ news outlets that misled us, and pushed a whole big conspiracy theory on conservative Americans. Absolutely unacceptable.

Obviously, this same approach should also happen soon on the liberal side when nothing comes of the collusion narrative. It won’t, though.

  5. In case no one noticed, the MSM has suddenly ceased all reference to the “Trump-Russia” investigation, and switched to the “obstruction investigation.” It’s 1984 all over again.
