10 thoughts on “Trump And Conservatives”

  1. Here’s a sixth thing: Many people are making a comfortable living by portraying themselves as (or sincerely being) anti-Trump conservatives. There was no such chorus of anti-Clinton liberals for the last several decades. I’m not sure whether this has more to do with the different ways people think on the two sides of the aisle or the different ways they make money.

  2. Equally annoying are the legions of “No one can criticize the leader” Trump fans in the media

I watched the Shapiro Goldberg interview. The problem with much of the criticism, is that it isn’t good criticism but petty or based on bad information. For example, “dumb tweets”. Often times Trump turns out to be right as with the wiretapping and sparing with NK lead to peace talks.

#2 bringing appealing to Democrats who voted for Trump. They are using the same strategy as Disney dealing with the majority of their long term hard core fans not liking the new content.

    John Boyega: “We don’t care.”

Mark Hamil: “We enjoy destroying people’s childhoods.” (I feel so bad for him, Fisher, and Akbar. Totally abused by RJ)

Rian Johnson: “There aren’t any valid criticisms of TLJ. If Empire Strikes Back was made today, it would receive the same reaction. There are always small minorities that don’t understand the movie and just like to hate.” (Paraphrasing that one but its close)

Disney: “Everyone liked TLJ except for a small minority of fans who are racist and bigoted white men.”

Denial and make baseless charges of racism is what they do instead of evaluate their own actions.

Side note: The people who made fandom what it is today were reviled up until just the last 5-8 years by society. Now that fandom is becoming popular and profitable, the core group of nerds behind fandom are now being cast out of their own hobby by cultural marxists.

    1. I guess disney and dems have to endlessly [like being in hell} go on and on about racism as they were and are currently, racists.
And they constantly say that everyone is a racist [but just don’t know it, which is unlike them in that do know they are racists}.

  3. I mostly agree with point 5, and its the biggest point to me. I only disagree in that many Republicans have decided to no longer run and a lot of seats are opening up. I had issues with my own Rep, since he supported TPP which led to the Iran deal. I didn’t plan to vote on him, but he kindly decided to retire.

Trump is better than I hoped, and I don’t think it is because he is a better conservative. I think he is a better classical liberal and republican. His only beef with abortion is PP receiving federal funds. He was pro-gay marriage before Obama and Hillary. He’s not out there quoting scripture in every speech. He is big on giving people more control over their own money and lives.

He is crap in setting up an executive team to work under him. With the exception of a few of his key female communications folks and Nikki Haley; nearly all his staff has been a major disappointment. Sessions is just pathetic, and Rudy is showing himself to be out of tune.

And yet in spite of staffing issues & other problems (fake news etc.) he (Trump) seems to be getting allot done; apparently he is the sort who knows how to function well amidst “chaos”.

    1. I think Trump is just the type of leader that takes it on himself. W was praised for picking a good team, and I can’t say I’m happy with where that administration took us. Indeed, I’m about to head to the airport and deal with the cluster that is the TSA. Still, you don’t have to like Obama or his team to be impressed with his ability to assemble a leadership organization that will do his bidding, faithfully.

        FIFY.

  5. What have “conservatives” conserved over the last hundred years? Nothing, not even the right for women to have private toilets.

Trump is not a conservative. He is a winner. Love him or hate him, the fact remains that he’s done more for the economy, more for liberty, more for justice in 18 months than the last four presidents combined.

  6. Jeez, I just read an astonishing Ed Morrisey article, where he gets an amazing amount of space policy and space news wrong, including the bizarre accusation that Trump wants to fold NASA into the Defense Department!

“The American space exploration effort will shortly undergo a dramatic transformation, thanks to a new order given today [by Trump] to put it under military control.”
