I don’t know how the editorial structure works at Thrillist, but I’d imagine that, like many places, the author of the article doesn’t get to write the headline. And even when the author DOES write the headline, a website with the name “Thrill” in its title will likely have editors at the ready to convert those headlines into click-bait lines instead.
