I can never be a big L libertarian for their open borders and drugs idea. Open borders is a formula for certain disaster, even as an idea. We saw millions flood into the country during Biden’s misadministration. The costs have been astronomical, and nit just in money.
As for drugs, the whole War on Drugs is Prohibition 2.0. It simply doesn’t work, but damned if I know what to do about it. I have a niece who got into drugs as a teenager. She proceeded to ruin her life for over 20 years. That isn’t the worst thing she did. She had 3 children, and she ruined their lives, too. I was living over 1000 miles away, so I didn’t know what was going on. My sister told me that my niece would be smoking crack with other people in a trailer while her daughters were stuffing towels around their door trying to stop the fumes. My niece reportedly turned her life around and is doing great today, but her kids are now severely messed up young adults. Don’t anyone dare try telling me that doing drugs is a victimless crime.
