Yes. Socialists should be disqualified for public office for simply being socialists.
I noted on X right after Chevalier’s election that it was hard to see how she could honestly take the oath of office.
And as someone (von Mises? Hayek?) once noted, if socialists understood economics, they wouldn’t be socialists.
Socialists should be disqualified for public office in the same way flat-Earthers aren’t qualified to make schoolroom globes.
Nothing says open-minded, forward thinking in the 21st century like the blind adherence to the ignorant fantasies of 19th century pseudo-intellectuals.
“1984” gave us “INGSOC” courtesy of Orwell, I propose we call the current crop “DEMSOC” in honor of their desire to use “1984” as a goal.
I like the idea of just dropping the ‘N’ in Orwell’s “INGSOC’, making it “IGSOC”. As in the “Ig Nobel Prize” or perhaps “IGnoble SOCialism” take your pick… Doubleplus good…
