The beauty of our united states is that each is free to experiment as the others look on and make judgments. Glad to see California taking such risks, just as New York has curtailed AI data centers while others have gone all in on data centers. Just as Texas has gone all in on spaceflight, and Florida slowly rejoins the space race, dusting off infrastructure that has laid fallow for most of my adult life. The point is that were free to join or reject.
We are (so far) also free to complain about dumb ideas. Hopefully, Californians are still able to change course before their state descends into full third world status. I’m not sure that will be possible. I was rather appalled by my last two visits there.
