   “And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn – I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President, too.”

   or

   “…there are no red states and no blue states, only the United States.”

   How many people fell for his lines?

   I guess the platitudes from the campaign trail were ‘just words.’ He’s starting to seem bitter, realizing you can’t unring a bell.
