  1. He quotes Musk as saying:

Success was not one of the possible outcomes from a budgetary standpoint

Aww, that’s just cruel. “Success was not an option.”

Did you guys notice the delicious irony hidden in the press release for the CCDev awards:

“These selections represent a critical step to enable future commercial human spaceflight,” said Doug Cooke, associate administrator for Exploration Systems at NASA. “These impressive proposals will advance NASA significantly along the path to using commercial services to ferry astronauts to and from low Earth orbit, and we look forward to working with the selected teams,” Cooke said. (emphasis added)

    Heheh.

  2. Maybe Obama ally Gov. Bill Richardson, with an eye on New Mexico’s Spaceport America, was a constructive influence in formulating the new direction.

Unhappy though I am with Obama, I will forgive him a multitude of sins if he materially expedites a sustainable space presence for America and for humanity.

  3. Where is Spacex? Does anyone find it interesting that the only company close to doing what NASA needs to be successful is not in on the deal?
