  1. I (originally from Boston) have times when I’d like to move back to New Hampshire, as much of the year was nice (even the cold, snowy bits, and I worked outdoors in those days). On the other hand, the hill country of North Carolina is pretty nice, too. My wife (from Chicago) hates the bugs, of course.

  2. The clocks in New Hampshire have already sprung ahead one season, going by the nightly temperatures these days. Trees are just starting to get the memo.

    1. Changed the filters and fired the furnace for the first time this season. I call it Abednego Day…

  3. It’s still very summery here in Tennessee, even though our row cropper harvested his bumper crop of corn a few weeks ago (we had a very warm, wet summer, or so I’ve heard).

    1. Early for corn. Must have been short season corn.
Illinois flatlander raised. If I had followed in my father’s footsteps I’d be too busy getting the harvesters (nobody from there calls them that. I mean combines) ready to be posting here. Because the screen settings in the thresher part are different (the heads are replaceable in just minutes) Dad always liked to keep two machines at the ready.

      1. Between corn and soybeans ‘natch. What else is there?Except a smattering of wheat in the summer?

  4. Fall is my favorite season and I’m reveling in the fact that it has come sooner than usual here in the Northeast.
