Free To Defend Ourselves

The six months are up. The ABM Treaty expired today, as far as the US is concerned.

Let it be buried with other misbegotten relics of the Cold War.

Oh my God. Is that the air raid sirens sounding?

I mean, w/o the ABM Treaty, everyone's just going to hair-trigger alerts, and we're about to go up in mushroom clouds, aren't we?

I got my SANE/FREEZE newsletter, I KNOW about these things!

I have never been able to comprehend the irrational hostility of so many liberals towards the idea of defending the country against nuclear attack. To me this is a no-brainer, and I can only conclude that is the true condition of the opponents of strategic defense. There are still congresscritters trying to gut the whole project, so we can be vulnerable to any nuclear armed state or any states that may gain nuclear arms in the future.
