Disgusting

Thousands marched in the streets of Gaza to celebrate the murder of the college students at Hebrew University.

Just like the Israelis marched and cheered after accidentally killing women and children in the military raid that assassinated the Hamas leader. Oh, wait--that never happened. Instead, there were mourning editorials and soul searching.

These people are a long, long way from being ready to have their own country. It's hard to see how this insanity can end, short of a complete and total subjugation of the "Palestinians," a la Germany and Japan after the second world war. Or expulsion.

I think I need to stop thinking about this situation for a bit, because when I read that first line - "Thousands marched in the streets of Gaza to celebrate the murder of the college students..." - I pictured thousands marching down one single large highway... and then I pictured a bomber zooming above them, preparing for its straight-arrow run...

And I'm running low on satisfactory reasons to give when I ask myself, "Well, why not?"

Did you mean "ditto"?

Posted by Rand Simberg at July 31, 2002 03:12 PM

I'm sorry, I'm supposed to give a rat's ass about these 'people', why? Any group that celebrates the murder of anyone deserves nothing from us. Except maybe a visit from a nuke armed B-52.

Yes thanks my anger got the best om me it seems.

"Expulsion"? To where? All those surrounding arab regimes who wax so indignant about the plight of the poor martyred Palestinians don't want them anywhere near. They remember how the PLO nearly toppled King Hussein in Jordan, and how they ruined Lebanon in the Seventies. The Saudis will send money to the bombers' families, but they firmly shut the doors against them.

Why should they have any say about it? They're the ones who are causing the problem. They've created the monster--let them sleep with it.

OKay. Bush has a limited attention span. Small feet, no testicles, too? How can "His Furiosity" actually think he's helping thing by constantly forcing his piece/plan? Karl Rove must have promised him 8 years with Scalia's help. Meanwhile, all those flags, so supportive and uniting for Americans, have come off the cars. Do you think Bush may be responsible for this lost momentum?

Roll over Vixen, for you are prone to error. I dunno where you're living, but hereabouts the flags are still conspicuous.
