He Must Have Seen The Overnight SNL Ratings

Gore isn't running in 2004.

The clues must have finally accumulated, and reached critical mass.

Darn! Would have been very entertaining...

Oh well, I guess that leaves the field open for Sharpton, then. :-)

2004 will be very entertaining here in Georgia. Our 'Super Tuesday' presidential primary is a stand-alone vote with no other offices or issues at risk, so Republicans will be free to vote for Sharpton or Hillary or whoever we think will be the most fun to campaign against.

AlGore and Tipper are going to be here in Raleigh tonight, at a book signing. I was thinking of going with a sign saying....

AlGore
Thanks for the early

Heh, as soon as I saw that Gore was going to be the guest on SNL I thought to myself, "Hmm I guess he's not going to be running for president after all." I dunno I guess I just felt that anyone serious about running for president wouldn't do a comedy show. Although I did like the skit at the very end with the alternate ending to Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. "....And that river of chocolate, which I'm pretty sure a fat kid just drowned in today."

What pursuaded him was his recent trip to China-- despite trying to keep it a secret, news of it got out. Which means such future trips are out of the question for a potential presidental candidate. Now that he is no longer a candidate, only the bitter-ender Clinton haters will care.

He's been been compared to Nixon in '60, and in '62, after losing the governor of Calif. race, we "wouldn't have Nixon to kick around any more." This was that speech. So, maybe the plan is to run in '008 after the Democrats do a Goldwater style self-immolation in '004. Not a person or scenario I'd want to emulate, but then again, I'm not Algore.
