Not Again

Here's a golden oldie. On the fiftieth anniversary of his death, some unrepentant Soviets want to clone Stalin.

I can't tell whether this is a real story or a gag. The URL isn't helpful in that regard...

Why do we need another Stalin clone? From what I saw on The History Channel, Saddam not only qualifies, he makes the original look easygoing in comparison.

Hate to be a party-pooper, but I gotta point this out: Stalin was worse than Saddam. Although at a certain level it becomes absurd to try to rank such things, the truth is that Saddam has a million or two lives on his hands at most. And he runs a vigorous police state, not a totalitarian state.

Whereas Stalin's Soviet Union was true totalitarianism, and he killed about 30 million.

I'll say this though: Saddam is probably the second most evil man alive today. The most evil being Kim John Il.

I can't believe I wrote "Kim John Il" above. Looks like a Pope or something. %-)

Kim Jong Il, thank you.

Somebody musta read this and decided to do the next best thing ...

For the record, Dean, my comment had to do with Saddam the -- er -- creature, not Saddam the despot. In terms of character and personality, he beats Old Joe with a ballpeen hammer. And enjoys it.

What part of Stalin do they have to clone with?

Please, oh please let it be the nose (like in Woody Allen's, SLEEPER).

Anybody got a steamroller?

Posted by Kevin McGehee at March 5, 2003 02:11 PM

I thought Hillary Clinton was an early Stalin clone experiment where they y chromosone was accidentally lost?
