Wishful Thinking

Here's an article by James Moore at Harvard Law that fantasizes that the Internet will create the "second superpower" that can stand up to the US. He's got it half right, in that the web will help promote various political causes. Uh, hasn't a major complaint about the Internet been that it's American dominated? Wasn't there a story a few months back in the UK about setting up an new Internet precisely to get away from the Americans?

Rand you realize that according to this article, by creating this blog site, you are already part of the second superpower.
Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated.:)

If the rest of the world doesn't like that then they might try getting off their contented duffs and doing something.

So the "the second superpower" is going to consist largely of pron and Nigerian scams. Somehow that doesn't seem to scare me all that much.

I kind of like the part where he more or less admits that the second super power more or less exists at the pleasure of the first super power.
