Protein Jelly?

I have mixed feelings listening to the news that Saddam has been killed in tonight's bombing.

I'm not unhappy he's dead, but I think that it was much too easy, and ambiguous a death. Both to convince the Iraqis, and for reasons of basic justice, he should at a minimum have seen it coming, and suffered the public ignominy of Mussolini.

How would you identify the remains? (Assuming they haven't been burned to ashes)

The bad thing about death is it's so immediate. It would be far better for us to take Saddam alive and have him live out his days anonymously in a maximum security prison in Iowa or Missouri (or wherever Manuel Noriega is currently resting). For an egomaniac like Saddam that would be a fate worse than death.

I was pretty happy the first time they killed him. This time is gravey.

I think it would be best to have mopre proof than a hole in the ground before we bury the bloke.

The problem with not having a body is nothing to show on TV to counteract the inevitable double or modified tape appearance that's bound to happen by tomorrow.

However, it's getting bad enough that I expect the information minister to show up with a glued on mustache pretending to be Saddam.

I'm sure Baghdad Bob must be moving up the list of doubles by now.

Actually Manuel Noreiga is in a Federal "Country Club" Prison down the street from my house in suburban Miami. As for IDin the Remains. I suppose if they can gather DNA Scraps from the WTC they can do it here too. Trick is getting invesigators in there to clean the Rubble.
