But How Will The French Enforce UN Resolutions?

The Palo Alto City Council wants to outlaw frowning. At council meetings, anyway.

Eye rolling wouldn't be permitted, either.

OR, they could stop coming up with such retarded propositions and remove the need for frowning and eye-rolling.

The Palo Alto city council meetings are great entertainment for real cheap. Not a good place to take a date :-), but definitely worth at least one visit. (I think they're televised, or at least they were at some point.)

It's a shame they're trying to fix this; sometimes I think most political organizations are most effective when they're least effective, if you know when I mean.

Aren't frowns a form of free speech and a basic expression of human emotion? Last I looked the constitution protected such things but I must have just awaken from a very long coma. It should be interesting watching the ensuing court case once someone is charged with frowning during a government function. Will the ACLU come to the rescue?

What does the law there say about dropping trou and displaying one's buttocks in the council's general direction?

Posted by Kevin McGehee at April 8, 2003 09:52 PM

Its not a totally crazy idea. There's no mention of forced Botox treatments for the more expressive members of the council, is there?
If the council doesn't want my non-verbal opinion of this crap, they better chop off my central digits.

I loved living in Coronado in my youth, but I miss it less and less when I hear this hooey.

Had to roll my eyes at this one. It just enforces my belief that when you lack principles, the more rules you have just exposes the fact.

"And all the good happy folk of Happy Valley sang and danced all day long. And anyone who was for any reason miserable or unhappy or who had any difficult personal problems was prosecuted under the 'Happiness Act'."
