Who Died And Made Them Captain Kirk?
That's the wonderful last line of a wonderful essay by the highly redoubtable James Lileks on why an international criminal court, under current world circumstances, is a terrible idea.

He was doing great until the end of the article, it should have be Captain Picard not Captain Kirk. Captain Kirk kinda had the old fashioned attitude, if you can't screw it, shoot it. Captain Picard was much more the new age guy.

Good point. Kirk is more the unilateralist cowboy type. I can't imagine him brandishing a picket sign reading "No War For Dilithium."
