End The Unarmed Victimhood

Some have pointed out that the recent horrific event in Russia was a combination of September 11th and Columbine. Our current (idiotic, in my opinion) policy is to ban all firearms (and even pictures of firearms, or finger guns) from schools. The effect of course, is to put up a sign on the outside of the school saying, "Welcome terrorists and mass murderers: Building full of unarmed victims."

Dave Kopel has a more realistic, and sensible solution.

There is just one little problem: Israeli's all have a minimum of two years experience with guns, because they all were once soldiers in the IDF. I doubt that is the case in Thailand and the USA

Israeli's all have a minimum of two years experience with guns, because they all were once soldiers in the IDF. I doubt that is the case in Thailand and the USA

There are ways we in America could fix that, if elected officials would just stop listening to the domestic disarmament fanatics.

About half of US households have guns today.

Note that there are effective gun violence prevention measures that we could take to help on this score. (Teaching kids about guns in a formal setting seems to decrease criminal gun violence AND it helps with the "not enough people familiar" problem.)

It may not be the policy in Thailand, but it will definitely surprise some Islamo-fascist coward as he starts to round up little kids to shoot in the back and suddenly gets a taste of lead-poisoning himself!

I'd much prefer one accidental shooting (not death) a year and tens of thousands of safe kids, than the stark, gunless victim-collection-points we have now!

And for the record, my family and I LIVE here in Thailand, land of the exploding C4-and-ballbearing motorcycles.
