Chutzpah

There's a story over at The Hill that there were some Swift Boat ads that Fox refused to run during the campaign, because they were "too negative." Amusingly, CNN had no problem with them. Of course, they're probably much more desperate for ad revenue over there these days...

But the part of the story that broke my irony meter was the very last bit:

Kerry adviser Mike McCurry, however, characterized the Swift boat campaign as neither fun nor moving, calling it the “most dishonorable thing I’ve ever seen in politics.”

He must have stumbled around the White House during the Clinton years with his hands over his eyes. This from a guy whose president and party sponsored ads claiming that if Republicans won, "more black churches would burn." This from the guy who, from his lectern in the White House Press Room, verbally trashed women who had the temerity to complain about the First Groper's treatment of them. This from a willing spokesperson for one of the most dishonorable administrations in our nation's history.

That he hasn't been struck by lightning could be the strongest argument I've seen for the non-existence of God.

Or God finds his idiocy so amusing he wants to keep him right where he is.

Looking at the last few elections, I suspect God has his reasons for keeping WJC around.

Please Rand. Don't hold back! Tell us how you really feel!

I'm recalling an email that was going around during the early rounds of the elections, basically blaming Bush for every possible negative thing that's happened since 1900. Unreal. Even blaming the precipitous drop in the markets following 9/11 on him. The biggest belly-laugh, though, was claiming that Bush was presiding over the most corrupt administration in history. That one got a real chuckle out of me.

I tended to ignore the goings on in the White House during Clinton, perhaps naively. But the claim that Bush is more corrupt than Clinton didn't even pass *my* smell test!

Let's not forget Tricky Dick.

I understand Nixon left after Barry Goldwater (a fine man, I must say) told him he had no support.
