We Need An Independent Commission

...to investigate the "results" of the "Independent Commission" that investigated Rathergate. It looks like Thornburgh and Boccardi may have set themselves up for a libel suit.

This won't go away until CBS and its defenders decide to let it all hang out, and display a little honesty. At a minimum, they have to stop making a laughing stock of themselves and admit that that the documents are fake beyond a reasonable doubt. That, plus a very public apology to Matley, might at least make this legal problem go away.

The problem with that is that an admission that the documents are fake will increase the likelihood that Buck Staudt will come to the conclusion that he has a good libel case. Especially if they admit what Matley claims: that he told them they couldn't be authenticated, and they broadcast the story anyway.

They're in quite a pickle. Can't say I feel sorry for them.

Discovery will be quite entertaining! :-D

The Rathergate commision was stacked by Viacom. Redstone hired Dick because Dick had been fueding with the Bushes for years. Dick was hired to write a coverup and he wrote a coverup.
