Byron York describes the ongoing absurdity of campaign finance "reform."

...after years of campaign-finance reform, we are entering an era in which a donor can give an unlimited amount of money to an unaccountable group without any public disclosure. Before McCain-Feingold, big donors gave fully-disclosed money to the political parties, which, because they represented the entire coalition that made up the Democratic or Republican parties, were far more accountable to the public than the new, outside, groups became. Now, new C4s like protectyourcheck.org do not even have to reveal where they get their money — a central tenet of clean campaigning. And it was all done in the name of reform.

John McCain should be ridden out of Arizona on a rail.

Nobody ran against him last time he came up. I didn't want to vote for him, so I didn't. Not that it mattered much when there is only one person on the ticket.

"John McCain should be ridden out of Arizona on a rail."

Preferably on a rail heading due South. I'm sure the Minutemen would be happy to give him an extra push across the border.

Of course, under the insane amnesty bill by Sens. Craig and Kennedy up for a vote today, he could be back in the USA in time for dinner.

This is just another example of unintended consequences, or is it? I have watched politics and politicians all of my life. I have been on both sides of the political fence. I can tell you they are the greatest magicians to ever walk the earth. There deft abilities in slight of hand are remarkable. Only one conclusion about them has held up throughout my life: There has never been a politician in my lifetime that gave a rat’s @$$ about my personal interest and yet each and every one has tried to give me that impression. This is just another in a series of hoodwinking’s that have unsurprisingly disappointed me.
