Who Woulda Thought?

You'll all be shocked to learn, as I was, that men aren't totally averse to seeing women naked:

Women were more frequently bothered by nude sunbathing than men. Just over 40 percent of women said they did not like seeing other naked females on the beach, while just 5 percent of men shared their opinion about nude women.

What would we do without opinion polls?

Curious that they don't mention the numbers for seeing naked men on the beach...

Actually, they do. Quote near the end of the article:

The survey found nearly two-thirds of men said they weren't bothered by nude male sunbathers.

What is omitted is how female beachgoers react to nude male beachgoers.

I notice that there are not many pictures of naked women on this website. I consider that a problem.

They should go to the Seychelles to do another study. Mostly German tourists. You haven't lived until you've seen an 250 lb topless granmother with the grandkids in the water. A sight to behold I tell you.

If that 5% number is right it also means Gay men don't mind seeing naked women on a beach. Or the numbers could be different depending on where the beach is located. Near SF, or Fire Island, more gay men in the mix.

Not to mention 40% of women agreeing to be unhappy about ANY given subject seems high to me.

I've never seen 40% of the women I know, agree on anything. Mostly given a sampling of 100 women, you get at least 110 different views on the subject.

Later fellows, I have to go wallow with the other un-PC, MCPs.

Naked and nude are not synonyms.

Some years ago, a friend and I visited Black's Beach, the nude beach just north of San Diego. My major concern (aside from getting sunburned in unusual places) was potential embarrassment about having an uncontrolled reaction at the sight of some hot nude babe. Fortunately (at least for this circumstance), if I felt myself losing control, I just had to shift my gaze a few degrees and I would see somebody resembling Bella Abzug.
