Going For The Brass Ring

It's not a surprise, really, but Virgin Galactic has publicly announced that the next goal after a successful SpaceShipTwo commercial suborbital service is an orbital system. I wonder what the projected schedule is for first service, and if it will end up beating the CEV into space?

What a great story! If I win the lottery I'll be the first to fly. Rutan's a genius!! I checked out that website and found this about the new version of the Saturn V that's going to take us back to the Moon!!

They'd better be working on it now. Winning Bigelow's prize, and more importantly, the resulting carrier contract, would be a massive feather in Branson's cap. For several years, there would be only one civilian space station, and only one spaceline offering service to it--with the Virgin logo plastered all over everything.

God, I hope so. Especially in light of the decision to go with an inline shuttle derived HLV.

I imagine SpaceShip3 would look a lot like the T/Space CXV proposal.
