Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

That's what Jon Goff says that ATK should do with its "Safe, Simple, Soon" vehicle.

I agree. But we can bet it won't happen, now that they have their own man running the exploration activities.

This Freudian slip struck me...

"The solid rocket booster used in today's space program has flown successfully 178 times. Its safety record is unchallenged."

I was in NYC when I heard the news and I couldn't believe an SRB blew up on the Challenger. What could go wrong? Then I heard about O-rings and later read about the engineers unsuccessful plea to not launch in the cold weather.

Does that make for an unchallenged safety record?

I must be missing something.

Safe, simple and soon sounds like another "pick any two" as are safe, legal and rare or live, long and prosper.

"I couldn't believe an SRB blew up on the Challenger."

Neither could I, given that that didn't happen.
