It looks like the strange weather patterns from global warming have even moved beyond Earth. I blame George Bush, and his oil rich cronies for this.

Posted by Tim at March 3, 2006 03:23 PM

Why drill for oil when you can have a storm several times as big as Earth do it for you? We ought to put one in the Gulf of Mexico.

Posted by Karl Hallowell at March 3, 2006 04:00 PM

Not earth! That's where I keep my stuff!

Anyway, it wouldn't fit.

Posted by Rand Simberg at March 3, 2006 04:09 PM

Jupiter growing a new spot? ::checks calendar:: But it's not 2010 yet!

Posted by Bruce Hoult at March 3, 2006 05:32 PM

I see they are testing the new improved version of the Superman III Haliburton Weather Control Sattelite.

Posted by Mike Puckett at March 3, 2006 07:51 PM

George bush is such a failure that even the largely silent, but very influential Jupiter has started to blush with embarassment on 2 cheeks.

Either that, or Jupiter as a Dean democrat is having it's second larger than Earth PMS experience, while sustaining it's first.

Or pissed of Jupiterian librarians grown red in rage over the civil liberties that haven't been violated, are gathering together to protest the passage of the Patriot Act

Or Code Pink has found a forum capable of housing cindy sheehans gigantic inflamed ego.

Republicans become the majority in another Jovian spot.

Posted by McGehee at March 4, 2006 03:30 PM

After a night out with david gregory, Jupiter returns home a little "flushed."

Posted by wickedpinto at March 4, 2006 06:39 PM

Jupiter may have acne but Saturn has a really bad case of 'ring around the collar'.

Posted by Mike Puckett at March 5, 2006 10:59 AM

How do we know that the red spot isn't a single celled animal? Could be it's reproducing itself.

If we don't know exactly WHAT it is, how do we know what it's NOT?

I know we think it's a storm, but suppose that what we see is the internal mechanisms of the solar systems biggest amoeba.

Posted by Steve at March 5, 2006 05:10 PM

Will this amoeba eat Vulcan science ships?

Posted by Mike Puckett at March 5, 2006 05:56 PM

The red spots are just a diversion from the black spots. shhh!

Posted by ken anthony at March 5, 2006 09:56 PM

Mike, it could happen.....but monkeys might fly outta my......

Posted by Steve at March 6, 2006 02:12 PM

Well I for one think its painfully obvious that Zeus is angy that we launch several more kilograms of Plutonium at him.

MAY LIGHTNING BOLTS STRIKE DOWN THE PURVEYORS OF GLOWING GOOP.

And for the love of Jebus please don't draw Zues into any cartoons or were all doomed I tell you, DOOMED!!
