Why The "Culture Of Corruption" Won't Work

...as a campaign theme for the Donkeys. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Alan Mollohan, Democrat:

The National Journal, distinguishing between the Abramoff-DeLay nexus and the Cunningham bribery case, opined that “The danger for Dems in the Mollohan case is that they may not be able to make the argument …. that this is merely an isolated incident. The actions taken by Mollohan – and we must remind that he has not been charged with wrongdoing – have nothing to do with a ‘culture of corruption’ or a ‘K St. Project.’ Instead, they are representative of how some in Congress do business and how, in particular, those who sit on the Approps committee are, how shall we put it, uniquely situated to do that business. In other words, it says that the whole system is rotten and it ain't just one side of the aisle that milks it.”

Yup. If there's a "culture of corruption," it's a bi-partisan one, and a natural one in a city of great power with little accountability. Lord Acton wasn't fooling.

And note the irony that he's the ranking member of the House Ethics Committee. I'm not sure whether that says more about him, or the state of House ethics.

And to think, just the other day someone was complaining you weren't dealing with serious corruption issues! Just pickin' on poor helpless lil' Cynthia!

See people, Rand LISTENS and DELIVERS!

Still, don't forget to put some heat on John Conyers shennangians too!

They are all corrupt, to tell the truth, I don't trust them, not because they are all trying to collect money for their own person, but rather, they have ALL taken on the opinion that they have to BRIBE their constituents to get re-elected. That should piss off most voters. If you stand for a REAL thing, I don't need you to BRIBE ME to vote for you. I need you to stand for a thing.

THAT is the problem with the whole earmarks thing, is that rational democraticly conscious patriots who are hoping to do the best thing for the nation, don't need a new bridge project, we need responsible leadership.

Unfortunately, we select functional retards to do this work for us, and they think it is the irresponsible votes on the highway bills, and the omnibus bills that gets us voting for them. Instead of honest responsible representation. We need to get THAT out of the equation, and everything would change most ric and tic.

Oh, one more thing. I HATE! HATE HATE! hearing Senators, and Congressmen talking about how they offer "leadership" in the house. They don't mean being leaders of their parties, but leaders of their constituents. They COMPLETELY misunderstand the nature of our legislature, so let me spell it out for them.

YOU REPRESENT ME! You don't tell _me_ what to THINK! _I_ TELL _YOU_ HOW TO VOTE!!! GOT THAT!?!?!

Friggen jaggovs.

As I think has been mentioned elsewhere, there are people who expect pork from their congressperson.

Maybe all these centuries people have misunderstood what the Talmud meant when it declared pork "unclean."
