Religion Of Peace™ Update

The group that kidnapped and converted the Fox News guys has declared that they will attack all non-Muslims in Gaza and "Palestinian" territories. They call themselves "Holy Jihad Brigades." Gee, consider: names like this, and Hezbollah (Party of God).

Good thing this isn't a religious war. Lord only knows what they'd call themselves if it were.

Ain't it funny how when a Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson says or does something stupid (or stupider than usual), its assumed that unless a Christian condemns or distances himself from him, the Christian approves. The same for Catholics when a priest is found to have an unsavory hobby requiring altar boys. Any bishop or cardinal who doesn't speak out is probably one, too, right?: Then there are the so-called Mormon polygamists, who must be repeated condemned by LDS officials lest they be suspected of secrectly hoping to establish Deseret.

So what's wrong with applying the same standard? Or is this another case where Muslim egos are so fragile that any criticism of or by them will cause Allah to cry?

>"Ain't it funny how when a Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson says or does something stupid."

Well, it used to be, but just like Yakov Smirnoff the gag has been flogged to death.

>"So what's wrong with applying the same standard?"

We do apply the same standard. We consider muslim, christian and enviromental fundamentalists alike to be kooks and give them the attention they deserve. If they to be plotting cospiracies for mass murder or firebombing animal research labs we consider them dangerous criminals, and deal with them accordingly.
