No, I'm Not Dead

But I'm having a hectic week. I went from the conference in Dallas on Sunday to Missouri for a family barbecue, then spent another three days there while also working. I flew back to Florida last night, but we had flight delays due to severe weather in Dallas, and didn't get in until about 1 AM. Then, after about three hours sleep, I got up and drove back to the airport and got on a plane to DC, where I am now, having worked all day on a client presentation for tomorrow. Probably won't come up for air until the weekend.

You left Texas and went to Missouri for a barbecue then came back through Texas?

I am surprised you are not dead.

You LEFT Texas for BBQ? Are you insane?

I just wondering why you didn't fly from Missouri straight to DC. Three hours (or even 8) in my own bed wouldn't have been worth the extra flight, to me.

Well, per his account, there were major weather delays in DFW. Were it not for those delays, he probably would have gotten a full night's sleep, laundry, clean clothes, etc, instead of 3 hours of sleep.

He was also travelling with his wife, and likely had a pair of round trip tickets out of Florida. Easier to pack 2 people into 1 suitcase for a short trip, return, and take a carry-on to DC than pack 2 people separately for 2 trips.

Of course, that's all just speculation on my part, too...

Well, she had a round trip from Florida to St. Louis, through Dallas. I had a round trip to Dallas for the conference, with a delayed return. My return from Dallas was on the same flight as hers. I had a round trip from Dallas to St. Louis with a return to Dallas the same as the first leg of her trip.

In order to go directly to Washington, I would have had to blow off the return tickets, and the ticket I had from FLL to IAD. As was noted, it was the weather delay that wiped out my night's sleep. Anyway, I got a good rest last night, but remain busy.

And I went from Texas to Missouri for barbecue because the family barbecue was in Missouri, regardless of regional preferences.
