No Space Please, We're British

Does the UK ban its citizens from going into space?

Someone better tell Sir Richard.

That interview: Two guys talking with each other, totally disconnected from the realities of space beyond the closed space-race era mental boxes.

Dreadful and instantaniously irrelevant.

The government has banned government money going towards putting British astronauts into the ESA astronaut program.

There is no limit on British citizens in space. Including those with dual nationality. Of course, Helen Sharman led the way.

Good point, Dave. I don't recall her relinquishing her passport.

I think that Charles characterizes the discussion pretty accurately. Simply the clueless BBC.

Ah, there you go spoiling it. The BBC written article seems pretty accurate at a glance through, I can't comment on the video as I've not had a change to watch it. Therefore I can't say if it is the BBC being clueless or just poor selection of the video to make a point. In that respect Charles is probably spot on.

Michael Foale also still has British citizenship. It's a great one for building a passport collection.
