Behind The Mask

John Edwards is a phony. And it sounds like he'd be another Bill Clinton (who was famous for thinking that no one's time except has had any value) when it comes to inconsideration of others:

It was well past the candidate’s alleged time of arrival, but no one seemed to mind. Then a prominent Democrat who lives in a fashionable downtown neighborhood confided we’d be waiting even longer. We all knew the candidate had a more public appearance at Martin Luther King Park before this one, and no one begrudged him such face time with real voters. But this particular insider knew something else: He had bided his own time because he had seen Sen. Edwards go jogging in front of his house, along with his security detail, after the time that the MLK event was to have started.

As reported in The State the next day: “Edwards was running late, and the throng waiting to rally with him at Martin Luther King Jr. Park took notice. They sat for two hours in the sweltering heat inside the community center, a block off Five Points.”

We were cool at the club, drinking, schmoozing, snacking. So he’s late? What are these folks going to do — write checks for the Republicans?

Also, when you make Howard Dean look good, it's pretty bad.

Dog bites man! Film at 11...

More pointedly: Sen. John F'ing Kerry selected this lightweight as his running mate. Does one need any further confirmation of Kerry's Planck-scale intellect?

As MG says, man bites dog. Edwards is the same guy who talked about the ills of Walmart while sending his aide to cut in line for a PS3. Waiting is something that the voters do.

As someone who lives in NC, I really had to force myself to read beyond this,

John Edwards is a phony

This guy as President of the local garden club scares me. He's an ambulance chasing, glad handing, rich kid. Anyone who thinks a $400 haircuts and a 10,000 sqft house make him a man of the people has never been in touch with reality.

I think his village, Chapel Hill, is minus an idiot. But trust me, just one nut missing over there will not make a big difference.

Not to worry Steve, Chapel Hill has plenty of idiots to fill Edwards place. Just look at the Chapel Hill Town Council.

As the old joke goes...

A NC health food manufacturing company announced they were going to increase their output of granola. This of course meant an increase in the harvest of fruits and nuts. The Chapel Hill Town Council sent them a scathing letter accusing them of trying to influence voting in city wide elections .

John Edwards is still an idiot, that's not going to change.
