The Door Into Summer was a favorite of mine (and my brother) too. Must be the engineering gene. The robots and inventions, the cat, the cold sleep, the vicious maneuvers of small business partners, time travel--great story! Thinking back on it, Dan's falling in love with the young girl was a bit... weird. Dan did have the conventional morality to arrange with her to wait until she was 18 to go into cold sleep.
