A Grim Milestone

This is (roughly) the ten-thousandth post on this blog, which I started a little over six years ago. (The exact numbers for both bloggiversary and numbers of posts are uncertain, due to the loss of some of my earliest posts in blogging software changeovers/upgrades).

When I started, back in October of 2001 (a few weeks after 911) I had no idea how long I'd do it, or where it would lead. It has provided a lot of entertainment and visibility for me, in ways I wouldn't necessarily have anticipated. I hope that at least a few of my readers have been entertained and enlightened by the efforts.

Roger that.

I rarely comment on the space posts because I'm not qualified to(don't want to look too stupid) but I enjoy them and have learned alot. Thank you

Great job Rand! Thanks for the free ice cream.

Your blog is one of the first I read every day. Thanks and keep it up!

Entertained and enlightened. Many thanks.

Thanks, Rand, for all the effort you put into this space. I also learn a lot here, and it's one of the first places I read daily, too-- often checking back several times daily to see what's new. You must put a lot of time and thought into this blog; I'd like you to know you are not just typing into the ether. I'd give my eyeteeth to be able to work in New Space, but circumstances mean I must settle for vicarious experience through your efforts, and those of a handful of others.

Thanks for letting me free load off your bandwidth for all these years. :P

Definitely has informed AND entertained me. I wish I had the personal resources to contribute constructive comments; just an ol' aging wage slave.

You're a daily read for me!

Rand,

Thank you for your insights and information. While I sometimes disagree, even on those occasions I learn something important and helpful.

Thanks also for running a blog which draws so many excellent participants. The few trolls -- bad as they can be -- do not detract from the overall excellence.

I hope I can learn enough at this new form of expression to get good at it myself.

Thanks and congratulations, Rand!
