Dean Barnett has lost his battle with cystic fibrosis. It's a shame that he couldn't last long enough for a cure. He was by all accounts a good man, and he was a great blogger, who faced his enemy with courage and equanimity. Condolences to his family and friends.

My younger son has CF and is now in his early 20's. CF has yet to be cured but treatments are better and they keep my son and thousands of others alive and at least in my son's case, doing well at this time. But CF is a disease that never takes a break, not evne on the holidays or the person's birthday. All CF families, freinds, and direct victims of the genetic illness live with the probability of its fatality way too soon in the person's life. My sympathy and support to Dean's family and friends.
