That’s Good To Hear

Michigan lost to Oklahoma tonight, so I no longer feel compelled by tribal impulses to pay any more attention to the appalling sport of basketball.

No, I didn’t watch, or even attempt to watch the game. Had they made it to the final four, I might wasted the hours doing so.

  1. Agree with you Rand. Hard to watch a sport in which those who move on to the pros are some of the most unworthy of fame and the big bucks.

    Worthless waste of time, indeed…

  2. I’m not much of a basketball fan either. In most sports scoring a goal is a big deal. Basketball only really gets interesting in the last couple of minutes of a close game.

I’ve defaulted to watching the tournaments this year though since I had to cancel my dish subscription. Outside of the prime time lineup there isn’t always that much to watch. Although the Spanish stations usually have some fairly interesting variety shows. Not that I understand them at all, but damn those women are the hotz.

I will eat my words over keeping analog signals over this digital TV stuff because I was dead wrong, the digital TV rocks! I just got my gov’t coupon last week just in time for a shipment of Channel Master Digital TV converters to come in stock at Fry’s. Fry’s put them on sale and it was only $10 after the coupon. The Channel Master’s are normally retail for 69.99 and are the upper level in terms of video quality. It even shows a little signal strength meter for each channel so you can play with the antennae till the meter gets pegged. I’ve only had to giggle the rabbit ears around once so far. Digital TV even has the little extras that you’d see on a dish service with the program guide that gives the shows title, description, and what comes on next. I can use this along with my Netflix and very seriously question if I even need to go back to dish at any point in the future.
