  1. (Out-of-context Pink Floyd lyric alert)

Big man, pig man, ha ha, charade you are
You well heeled big wheel, ha ha, charade you are
And when your hand is on your heart
    You’re nearly a good laugh
    Almost a joker
With your head down in the pig bin
    Saying “keep on digging”
Pig stain on your fat chin
What do you hope to find?
When you’re down in the pig mine
    You’re nearly a laugh
    You’re nearly a laugh
    But you’re really a cry.

  2. Come to think of it, maybe it’s not out of context. The verse was originally a potshot at big business fatcats. Since the the government took over General Motors, Obama wears the business fatcat hat too…

  3. Good news for the Donkeys: Rasmussen has Obama up to 48% approval, vs. 51% disapproval, his best showing since November.

And remember Rand’s prediction that the House couldn’t trust the Senate to pass health care fixes? They just did.

  4. So, Jim, you must be happy. That Road to Serfdom in your wet dreams looks like a downhill slide now. I guess the only thing that would make you happier is getting named commander of those 17,000 new IRS agents and having you all wear nice shiny white stormtrooper uniforms like in the last scene of ATTACK OF THE CLONES.

  5. Eh, it’ll be a while before that one gets overturned unless the Supreme Court torpedoes it. Still Obama had a year to make his case, if he’s facing 55% disapproval now, it’s pretty much his fault. Again.

  6. If I remember correctly, when Obama does his road show for a few days with massive MSM support the polls go up. Then after a week or so, they go back down to even lower levels.

  7. So , Jim, if your statistic is correct, when do you think the American people turned into the American sheeple and decided liberty wasn’t such a hot idea after all, and serfdom mightn’t be such a bad thing?

So it’s *good* news that more than half our people disapprove of our President? This early in his term?

He’s doing better than Reagan did, and about the same as Clinton, and those two left office with the highest final approval ratings of any presidents since FDR.

  10. Glancing at the Rasmussen daily poll, it looks to me like there’s been a significant shift from weakly to strongly supporting of Obama (4-8% of the population) along with a slight shift from weakly disapproving to weakly approving (2-5%).

It remains to be seen whether this is long term or not. Obama has temporarily improved in the past (particularly after both his State of the Union addresses).
