Well put. Of course, not every gun is the same. I have an ancient 20 gauge from my grandfather, and naively thought it would have moderate recoil like a modern 20. Nope. That thing kicks more than my Remington 12 gauge. It was so bad I was literally looking to switch guns halfway through my round.
Women and kids should start out with a 410, it’s a lot more fun and less pain. Al’s video is pretty scary.

I believe that you are being unfair. I don’t agree with Kagan on many issues, and I do believe that her much vaunted intellect is vastly overrated, but she is hardly an intellectual midget….
Can we get a constitutional amendment requiring that Supreme Court justices be proficient with firearms?
I bet we’d have fewer presidents saying things like, “John Marshall has made his decision, now let him enforce it!”
Scott, the issue I would take with ck’s comment is that, while Justice Kagan may be short, she’s not a midget — otherwise “intellectual midget” could mean “a midget who is intellectual.”
Of course, it depends on what ck intended to mean… 😉

I saw R. Lee Ermey’s Locked n’ Loaded episode about shotguns not long ago. He shot an original Browning Auto-5 and it didn’t look like it was very fun to shoot. Even Gunny had a hard time keeping the recoil under control. It bucked so bad that his finger accidentally bumped the trigger and it double shoot. Of course the second round went off with a 30 degree barrel rise.
