I’m pretty sure that this is the first time a US Senator (or at least an incoming one — it’s still months until swearing in) has the same given name as mine. Not surprising, though, that both are libertarian…ish.

Just a note, but Rand is short for Randal, his birth name. He just chose to shorten it as an adult.

The point is that unless your legal first name is Randal then you don’t share the same name. Just that your legal name is the same as his nickname.
I looked, can’t find it anywhere, who elected a guy named Simberg?
