Well, That's A Relief

President Chirac assures us that France is not anti-Semitic.

Who said it was, Jacques? It's just the government that is. You know, like the French ambassador to Britain who called Israel a [expletive deleted] little country, and as far as I can tell, still has his job?

"Eric Blair's" lame explanation for the phony name he uses is classic leftist paranoia: "I recieved some shit from the war whores for not attaching my name to my posts. This is for the simple reason that I don't want the police at my door for criticizing the war machine. It's safe to use your real name when you go along with what the war machine wants, and dangerous when you don't."

Well, "Eric" I guess by this reasoning Molly Ivins, Michael Moore, and Ted Rall better head for the hills, toute suite. I know it's hard to shake off the '60s paranoia, but if you'd care to check the historical record you'll find that many, many people, including me, openly and publicly criticized the "war machine" despite some actual incidents of harassment, none of which we're seeing now. If you don't have the courage of your own convictions, you have no convictions.
