Part of the current conventional wisdom is that the UK (along with the rest of Europe) is becoming increasingly secular, which is one of the reasons that they are appalled by an American president who appears to be a sincere believer in God.

It amazes me how many people identify themselves as pagans without considering the real meaning of the word. It's essentially the Roman term for hillbillies. OTOH, most of the self-claimed pagans I've met would fit right in with Jed, Granny, Elly May and Jethro out by the cement pond.
