Couldn't Wait?

Hurricane season doesn't start officially for two more weeks (June 1st), but the first named storm has already appeared. It's starting in the wrong place (the Pacific--they usually originate in the Cape Verde Islands off the coast of Africa) and headed in the wrong direction (northeast, instead of west). That won't stop it from threatening Florida, though, if it survives its excursion across Central America. Time to check the supplies...

Even if it misses you the first time around, it might catch you on a second pass. Pretty weird storm. OTOH, it doesn't look very like either to hit Florida or to grow powerful (only 40% of reaching hurricane strength at it's forecasted strongest).

Which also means that tornado season is upon us.

I do not believe in voodoo or hexes. Having said that let me say this. IF we have a bunch of hurricanes again in Florida and along the east coast in general here is what we need to do.

We need to gather a collection to send Rand BACK to California. I do not believe in voodoo or hexes, but there is always chaos theory to account for the hurricanes of 2004 and Rand showing up in Florida about the same!!

No offense meant Rand.

Interesting that after four hits on the state last year, Florida real estate prices have generally doubled, tripled in some places. If we get hit again this year, none of us will be able to afford to live here!
