Fascism Descends On America

Lileks on the foolishness, and lack of perspective, of the intellectual class:

Quote in today’s paper: “The world’s least free place for making movies is the US, because it has a fixed model.”

Ang Lee. Ang Lee. So how’s that Saudi distribution deal for “Brokeback” going, eh?

Yup, it's so horrible that we had to force him to make movies here.

However, he's probably correct that it's easier to get a greenlight in HK for a $5M movie than it is to get a greenlight in HW for a $50M movie. Damn liberals - always tight with their money.

Then again, I don't see anyone else making $50-100M movies. And, the $5M movies in the US are either porn or star Al Gore.

They are currently reshooting Brokeback for the Arab / Islamofascist market.

It'll be called Broke your back in the Sand Dunes.

The stars are Bin Laden and George Bush. The premis is that Allah has supposedly told Bin Laden and his followers to "do" the U.S., but the ending hasn't been writen yet.

So far plenty of Bin Laden's sheep have been slaughtered. Some of the flock has come over to Bush's side and together we're all trying to "do" Bin Laden first. Not to mention "doing" Al Queda, and anyone else who thinks Allah really feels like Bush and the U.S. deserves to get "done".
