They Couldn’t Have Found Anyone With More Expertise

If this is true, whoever sets up lectures at Harvard had his sense of irony removed at birth:

HARVARD UNIVERSITY EDMOND J. SAFRA FOUNDATION CENTER FOR ETHICS

Eliot Spitzer, former Governor and Attorney General of New York, will deliver a public lecture as part of the 2009/10 Labs Lectures on the Question of Institutional Corruption.

Truly amazing.

  1. Reminds me of the email I got from Stanford a while back, about a seminar about writing fiction. It was being given by New York Times staff.

  2. It makes perfect sense. Eliot Spitzer probably lectures beautifully on ethics, crystal clear, in part because he’s not troubled by his own ethical failures the way the rest of us are.

I mean, who among us, except the sublimely self-unaware, can give our children a stirring, high-minded, Puritan-pure lecture on not lying without our own internal squirms and twinges putting an unconscious touch of hesitancy in our voice?

Abelard the castrate monk was beautifully eloquent about the beauty of sexual love. Teenagers after their first date are certain they know better how to make a successful marriage than, say, their squabbling parents. No one is more confident and defininte about how to raise children than newlyweds who haven’t any yet.

  3. Maybe it’s a “first person report” on the how, when, where to START being or attracting corruption. How to find co-corruptables, corruptable companies or agencies to fund said corruption. Who to trust or who to shun as a corrupt elected official. How to pick a replacement for yourself who is ‘blind” to your corruption.

All of it, of course, will be presented from a “don’t let this happen to you” standpoint. I’m sure.

And I forgot the textbook for the seminar, the all important, Humping and Palm Greasing 101.

And maybe after this, Spitzer will hold seminars on Marital Fidelity? Bill Clinton be a guest speaker and can help during the Q & A after the seminars.

Do these people and universities sicken you when they do these things? Or am I the only one? Beyond that, whoever set this up and booked Spitzer needs to be able, a year from now, to give a seminar of their own, titled,
    .
“How to Return to the Government Work Force, post a very Public Firing and Humiliation, both caused by an Asinine Decision”.
    .
Liberal crooks like Spitzer get a pass on this stuff and speaking fees, but they throw pies at conservatives at places like Hah’vuhd.

    Go figure.

  4. Tai-Chi,
as a defunct, defrocked, Democrat, he has NO failings.

Just ask guys like Mr. Jefferson of LA, or Mr. Rangel of Spitzer’s own state.
