  1. Or maybe they just didn’t want to listen to him read some of his poetry. Poetry about shoddily-built homes.

  2. I don’t get it — why would they keep Jimmy Carter stuffed in the closet? Don’t they know he won a Nobel Peace prize, too? They’re like two peas in a pod!

  3. Including the two most recent ex-presidents means that you are “airbrushing” the ones before them?

No, talking about all the great Democrat presidents from Truman to present, and leaving out Jimmy Carter, is airbrushing.

  4. A list of ‘great’ democrat party presidents and Peanut 6 isn’t on it? Sounds like someone had a reality check.

Let me explain. In Stalin’s Soviet Union, there would be these group photos of high-ranking officials, y’know, Ol’ Joe’s buds. Every once in a while, one of these high-ranking officials would fall from grace. With extreme prejudice. Maybe they had ambitions of power and made Joe nervous. Maybe that official was incompetent, or maybe that official was simply the designated scapegoat for whatever stuff happened. Maybe Joe was just paranoid.

So they had all of those group photos, and they didn’t have the wherewithal to get everyone back for a new photo, minus whoever it was who went permanently missing. And they did not have the power of Photoshop back in the day. So they found someone with skill at a photo touchup tool known as an airbrush to make Comrade Missing to also be missing from the group photo.

So President Jimmy Carter “went missing” from a lineup of prior Democrats who had served with distinction. No, Mr. Carter is alive and well and available for comment, but the remark about “airbrushing” is dark humor of how the same situation was faced under the Wacky Georgian (Crimean Georgia, not Georgia USA).

I followed the link, and there’s nothing about Obama doing that (just something about a flyer in Cook County, which Instapundit labels “not an isolated incident”, but it’s the only instance he cites).

As for the Soviet Union, they not only airbrushed, but also lengthened the “Bering Sea” entry in the “Great Soviet Encylopedia” and mailed it out to all libraries so they could replace the entry for Laventi Beria (after Beria lost out to Khrushchev).
