The Senate Bill Passes

Thanks to everyone who did citizen lobbying to make this happen. Henry Vanderbilt offers his thanks as well, and discusses events to come (the next battle will be over the 2011 NASA appropriation). Clark Lindsey has thoughts there as well, and a lot of links here.

[Update a while later]

Lori Garver is going to do a press conference in a few minutes. You’ll be able to stream it here, at least in theory.

  1. Those who called their Congressmen to help get this passed, remember to give them a call today (home office) to express your thanks for doing the right thing. (if they voted ‘yea’ of course).

  2. Great news!

Here’s my attempt at trollish snark referrring back to one of last week’s postings here: It would be interesting to hear “an adult conversation” between Rep. Wasserman Schultz and Rep. Ryan on this bill. Wasserman-Schultz voted yes, Ryan voted no.

But in truth, as I checked the vote of my favorite representatives, they were evenly pretty split between yes and no. (My own representative, a moderate Republican running for the Senate, voted yes, as did the very liberal congresswoman in the neighboring district.)
