  1. I’ve been turning javascript off on this site for a few days now, perhaps the plugin was why I needed to.

  2. Nope. Totally incurious. Fiddle away. Your content is so good we’re happy to crawl across broken glass to read ya (and we have.)

OTOH, quit that crap, will ya? Keep it clean and fast.

  3. Load times for me are so variable (due to occasional issues with my ISP, my browser or my router) I hardly notice as long as there’s at least evidence the site is resonding — and if not, I usually assume the problem is at my end unless it’s limited to one site, or a few related sites. PJM, for example, sometimes bogs down for the Tatler and Vodkapundit, but not for Instapundit.

Anyway, the only issue I’ve noticed lately was the mobile theme, which happened to me again yesterday but only once.

  4. Thank you, Rand!!!!!!!!!!!

The site seems much smoother, and I for one am delighted to not have the clutter of those annoying buttons.

Also, as an aside, Facebook not only stalks members but also non members who visit a FB page for any reason. (that’s why I’m not a FB member, and also block all cookies from anything to do with FB).

    Here’s a quote and a link.
    http://www.firstpost.com/tech/facebook-finally-admits-to-tracking-non-users-133684.html

“Facebook officials are now acknowledging that the social media giant has been able to create a running log of the web pages that each of its 800 million or so members has visited during the previous 90 days. Facebook also keeps close track of where millions more non-members of the social network go on the Web, after they visit a Facebook web page for any reason.”

It does it via those damn “like” buttons. If you visit any FB page, you get a cookie. Then if you visit any page with those damn “like” buttons or other FB crap, they read the cookie. And that’s for non members!
