The Obama Psychodrama

…of the Mainstream Media:

The big question now is how many of the liberal media will return to form as this process unfolds itself with more whistleblowers emerging, and with documents subpoenaed and witnesses put under oath over the coming months. To be sure some already have reverted to their default position of excuse-making support, floating rationalizations to minimize the damage: Obama is too remote and disconnected (even, it may even be intimated as a fallback concession, a bit lazy what with all that golf and partying) to have actively instigated these shocks.

This would be the face-saving option for both Obama and the journalists who wish to remain invested in his cause, albeit at lower intensity now that they have conceded incompetence and perhaps sloth. He has disappointed them a little, but any overestimation they may have engaged in was out of the best of motives.

But others will take a different tack. Having devoted five plus years to the narrative of Obama the good, they will be ready to follow a new story line now, because it has the ultimate virtue in the news business: it is new. If the special committees which will investigate the scandals do their job, there will many veins to mine in uncovering and telling the stories of wrongdoing. In the 1970s, nobody made a good career move defending the Nixon administration’s use of the IRS against its opponents, after all.

It will be fascinating to see how they respond.

[Update a couple minutes later]

Some in the media have apologized to the Tea Partiers for not taking their concerns seriously:

“One of the guys said, ‘I’m sitting here looking at what you sent me last year and I’m embarrassed that I didn’t cover,’ and I said ‘I understand, this is so surreal, we didn’t know what we were dealing with,’” Zawistowski said.

Well, he should be embarrassed. They all should be. And an apology is the very least they could do after all of the lies and calumny that have been raining down on people who just wanted to see a return to Constitutional government. If they want to apologize, the best way to do it would be to start doing their damned jobs and stop carrying water for these incompetent thugs.

And they should follow the advice of Bob Woodward (and apologize to him, too):

I would not dismiss Benghazi. It’s a very serious issue. As people keep saying, four people were killed. You look at the hydraulic pressure that was in the system to not tell the truth, and, you know, we use this term and the government uses this term, talking points. Talking points, as we know, are like legal briefs. They’re an argument on one side. What we need to get rid of talking point and they need to put out statements or papers that are truth documents.

Don’t expect that from this gang. The media needs to learn that when it comes to Obama and the Democrats, they should not trust, and and they have verify everything.

  1. It is a vindication of us for all the things, the horrible terrible things that have been said about us that are equally false: the racist claims, the bigot claims, homophobe, Islamophobe, all the other trash that came from the left.

Trash. Yep. The usual suspects here certainly apply. The word “trash” is applicable to both the content and the deliverer.

The tea party leader thanked the media for covering the story now

Thank them?? For doing their job now but not before? F that. They should be ridiculed, insulted, derided, and above all, laughed at as the caricature they are.

  2. Before too long, the journalistic whores will calculate that Obama has become a liability for Hillary’s chances in 2016. Or that the Chicago Thug is no longer effective in promoting their agenda….

The moment that happens, expect to see the lefty media throw Obama under the bus and do it in such a way as to exonerate Hillary.

  3. Re Benghazi: at best, the administration send an ambassador into a freaking war zone without adequate protection. They deluded themselves into thinking that Libya was not a war zone.

Remember, these people (and most everyone else) criticized Bush for not being prepared for the Iraqi insurgencies.

    1. It’s curious that Ambassador Stevens both requested, and turned down, additional security.

      1. He wanted to die! He was more than willing to sacrifice his own life and the lives of his people for Dear Leader’s glorious mocha-homo Juche ideal! Earnestly strive to emulate the heroic stand of the Heroic Ambassador, who willingly shed his youthful blood while defending Dear Leader’s glorious Eight Year Plan! Forward the Revolution! Forward the Academic-Government-News Media union of Red-hearted patriots! Harshly criticize those who fail to enthusiastically promote Barack Obama Thought in all areas of life!

      2. The military offered some help but he had to turn them down because he was acting as the agent for the State Department who had a policy of not providing minimal security because they didn’t think anyone would attack Obama the savior’s people.

  4. They all should be embarrassed. They all should be shamed. They should all be given the Connie Chung treatment.

    IT. WILL. NOT. HAPPEN.

The dump parties philosophy… never recognize an opportunity. Rehabilitate your enemies. Choose idiots that say stupid things as standard bearers.

Instead of engaging and destroying the enemy, they become the enemy and turn on those that are not in their elite category.

Breitbart said it. If the republicans had any real men they would have defended Sarah Palin. Instead a democratic mayor from NYC had to do it.

  5. Now we know Obama didn’t just fantasize about acting like a tyranical dictator. This keeps getting worse day by day.

People should start turning up at local IRS buildings to protest.

    1. Well first we have to build one…

Hey that could be a shovel ready job!

And it’s quite fitting with the Lefty delusion about how economies work…..

You pay people to build the Bastille….

You pay people to destroy the Bastille.

Think of the spur to the economy!

  6. I expect Jon Karl and perhaps other reporters will be more skeptical of information from House GOP sources, after Karl got burned with doctored Benghazi emails.

    1. Maybe people will be skeptical of the Obama administration sources since they knew about this years ago and lied to congress about it. Thanks for standing up for the tyrant Jim.

    2. Jim, have you found any evidence that existed prior to the attack that a video was a concern? Quit being a dishonest hack and try providing some evidence to back up the basis of your arguments.

  7. I suspect we have secrets behind the scene serving as weapons of mutually assured destruction. The people who know the inner dealings can’t talk without destroying themselves. But if someone is going down anyway, thrown under the bus and not taken care of, they can take the rest of the gang down with them.

Things will unwind very fast if it gets to the point where someone in the inner circle is tossed out without compensation.

    1. I read an article this week that talked about media WMD. The article pointed out that the reason that news critter were not slaughtered by the mafia was that they had the good on them and if they ever started ti rough up news critters, the media would destroy the mafia.,

Don’t know if that was true.
