If, with the help of people like incoming Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (who claims to be the guardian of Israel in Congress but has nonetheless endorsed the Minnesota congressman), Ellison is elected to head the DNC, the party will be making a symbolic statement that goes beyond the identity politics they prize so much. His elevation to the head of the party at a time when when it has few other national leaders is a sign that the Democratic drift away from Israel has reached a tipping point. Pro-Israel Democrats must either stop Ellison or quit pretending that their party is still a bastion of support for the Jewish state.

Speaking as a Republican, I think Kieth Ellison is an ideal choice for DNC chair. I can’t imagine a better Christmas gift for the GOP.

What I’ve noticed this election cycle is that the Democrats have really come out of the closet. They are far more open about their Socialist/Marxist views.

I agree with most here. The old Dems just don’t have any other ideas as how to move the party forward. All they know is the same old method – demonize the GOP and pander to the folks who take the handouts. They have gone so far down the PC rabbit-hole that the Mad-Hatter looks positively normal. The party is very much like the rich ‘Hollywood’ elites that live in CA and NY (and some in Chicago) – they have become so used to dealing with folks who just nod and say “Yes, that is a great idea” to any dumb thing that comes to their minds. They live in a bubble/echo chamber and are fiddling while their “Rome” burns around them. Let Trump figure out how to deal well with the Hispanics in the country and flip that vote.
